Prickett's Nursery began back in 1941. Harry C. Prickett received his nursery license and grew and sold specimen Chrysanthemums and Fuchsias. In 1945, Harry and his wife Nelle moved to our present day location here in Rincon Valley. His son Harold became very interested in the nursery business and purchased 3 1/2 acres adjacent to his father's property. He and his wife Docia built a home on the property and moved from Oakland with their 3 young children, Mick, Jerry & Pat.

By 1947 Harry and his son Harold and wife Docia spent all their time developing what is now Prickett's Nursery. In 1965 Harry passed away, leaving the entire operation to Harold and Docia. Their 3 children, Mick, Jerry and Pat grew up at the nursery and as their abilities grew from weeding, watering and growing plants, so did their interest.

In 1982, Harold retired, selling he and Docia's ownership of the nursery stock to their 3 now grown children, Mick, Jerry & Pat. The siblings ran a very successful nursery until deciding to retire in June 2008, turning over ownership of the nursery business to Jerry's daughter Denise Baxter and two long time employees, Deanna Tubbs and David Kinney.

The new trio, Denise, Deanna and David reopened the nursery in October 2008 with renewed energy and vision. Despite it's 4 month closure the nursery is still growing and blossoming under it's new ownership. While the property itself remains under ownership by the Prickett's, who have eventual plans of developing the property, it is the intention of Denise, Deanna & David to keep Prickett's Nursery alive and growing here in Rincon Valley! They have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to lease Prickett's Nursery's longtime location from Mick, Jerry, and Pat until  development of the property begins. Though the date of the transformation remains uncertain at this time, Denise, Deanna & David continue to work with their realtor to find a permanant new home for the nursery that has become such a huge part of their lives.
